Look, Dianne Photo 2

Dianne “Dee-Dee” Look, 67, will be dearly missed by family, friends, and community members. She saw hundreds of people every day as manager at the Rothschild branch of Marathon Savings Bank. She had a smile and kind words for everyone. There wasn’t a single person she met that didn’t love her.

She will be missed most by her family: her husband, Bob; her daughter, Christy Bleu (Schlosser), and her children, Jordan Bleu and Jacob and Savanna Schlosser; her son, Chuck Mientke; Her parents Norman (deceased) and Patricia Renaud; her brothers, George and Tony and their families; Her sister, Denise “Pete” Preston and her family; her previous husband, Calvin Mientke and his family, and of course, her fuzzy kids, Augustus and Louie.
Dianne was an avid gardener, an animal lover, and an artist. Her jewelry brought joy to many and raised money for the American Cancer Society.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at Brainard Funeral Home – Everest Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

On the morning of her death her daughter received the last text Dianne sent. “One door in your life is closed. You have an unlimited number of new doors to go through now and God is standing behind every one of them. Start opening doors and see what he has in store for you!”

Dianne and I never met, but in 2015 she reached out to my family. We live in Keota, Iowa, and are friends with Dianne’s mom Pat and sister Denise. When my dad died in 2015, Denise passed along to Dianne how hard his death was on our daughter, Danielle, and so Dianne reached out to Danielle by email on the Keota funeral home website. I was so appreciative of that gesture. One never knows who in this world is thinking of you or praying for you at any one moment. It was a good lesson for me to let people know more often that they are on my mind. If knowing Dianne is anything like knowing her Keota family, I’m not surprised when I read what a champion she was on all levels. I can’t help making the connection to the events of Easter, that she became a martyr for her friend. I know that heaven must be a great place to be at Easter. I’m so sorry for your loss and hope that soon the happy memories will ease your sadness. You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

Bob, I remember when you and Dee met. You made such a great couple. Big, burly Bob and little tiny Dee. I had never see you so happy. I have many great memories of the two of you throughout the years and am so very thankful Scott and I were able to see you both this past fall. Very thankful. Please know that I am here for you whenever you need a friend. We’ll definitely be seeing you in Madison for this upcoming hockey season. She loved you so much Bob. You were her knight in shining armor. Please take care of yourself and the furbabies. I love you and will see you soon.

Bob, we are so sorry to hear of the loss of your Dee-Dee. I remember meeting her at the Arrow a time or two or three. I hope someday you are able to come to this page and read the wonderful things that are being said about her. The last time you and I saw each other / spoke was at Bob’s memorial. Sometimes there are no answers, only questions. I wish you peace my friend as well as to your family and the community where Dianne was known and loved by so many, many people.

Dee was a good friend in high school and shared a love of the Beatles with 3 of us. We each took a Beatle name and she was GEORGE. She was fun to be with and in the last few days, more memories of her are coming back. My sympathy goes out to her family members.

I always looked forward going to the bank seeing Diane. Going through the drive thru with a excited dog knowing he would get a treat. Diane would always be fun to talk to. My son and granddaughter would be in the drive thru and she would talk them into coming inside so Diane could see Emmy. One day after a snowstorm a customer hit the enter sign by the drive thru. Diane knew I was the guy that took care of fixing it. She was so worried about the cost for the person that hit it and asked me to do the best I could to keep the cost down. I did go inside occasionally when I had too many things to accomplish and Diane was ready to help. I am so sad now and just wanted her family know she touched our life’s.
