Edward M. Detert, 50, of Wausau, passed away on April 26, 2017 at United Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota.

There will be an open house visitation from 4:00 PM–7:00 PM on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St., Wausau, WI. Please come and share your favorite ‘Ed’ stories.

Ed was born in Wausau, WI on September 19, 1966. He was a graduate of Wausau East High School and North Central Technical College. He worked as a 911 dispatcher for the Marathon County Sherriff’s Department; a job which he loved.

He was a huge sports fan, but he especially loved the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family over the years.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by family and a lot of great friends.

    I have many good memories of Ed from our younger softball days ! Smart man, good competitor, and as nice as the day is long !
