Moore, Raymond

Raymond James Moore passed away on March 22, 2017 at his home under the care of AseraCare Hospice. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 6, 1930.

He was proud to serve his country as a United States Marine during the Korean Conflict. He served on the front lines and received a Purple Heart for his combat wound. All those who were lucky enough to have known Raymond knew that “once a Marine always a Marine” was very true in his case. Raymond flew 300 children for the “Young Eagles”.

Raymond and Camilla owned Ray’s Auto for 17 years. He married Camilla on October 5, 1957 in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

He is survived by his wife, Camilla J. Moore; daughters Laura (Charles) Miller, Janet L. Bruck; grandchildren Jonathon Bruck, JoElle Johnson, Alicia (Seth) Griffith, Jeana (John) Svetlik; and three great-grandchildren; a brother David L. (Ruth) Moore and many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Raymond A. Moore, his mother Hazel (Fancher) Moore, a sister Marcia E. Guest and brother Edward Moore.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Wausau Bible Church, 1300 Grand Avenue, Wausau. The Rev. Chris Juvinal will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Brainard Funeral Home – Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston, and again from 12:30 pm until the time of service at the church. Burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank AseraCare Hospice for the care given to Raymond.
