Albert Lee Deiler, Jr., 95, Schofield, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Aspirus Hospice House surrounded by his family.
Albert was born June 28, 1923 in Halder, WI to the late Albert Sr. and Clara (Condon) Deiler. He graduated from Mosinee High School in 1942. Following graduation, he worked on a farm, The Palmer House, and eventually for International Harvester in Melrose Park, IL from 1948 until his retirement in 1981.
Albert was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1949, serving overseas in Japan during the Korean War. He was ranked Corporal E4 at the time he finished service in 1951.
Albert married Dorothy Mae Rourke in 1981. She preceded him in death in 2006
Albert loved time spent with his family and friends. His interests included reading, gardening, canning, hunting and fishing, and walking. He loved dancing to big band and polka music. He was proud to be an active member and usher at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Marie (Hugo) Schmidt, Bernice (John Donahue) (Frank) Maguire, Richard (Catherine), Margaret (Robert) Walker, John “Jack” (Alice), Dorothy (Edwin) Winnie, Catherine and David. He is survived by his many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 6101 Zinser Street, Weston, WI 54476. The Rev. Greg Bohren will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Halder, WI.
