Alvina M. Jacobi, 106, of Wausau, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024. She was born on December 19, 1917, to the late John and Mary (Handrick) Imhoff, in the town of Cassel, Wisconsin.
Our Mom was a very talented homemaker, gardener, and canner, making rhubarb jam and a variety of wines. She was a creative seamstress and enjoyed hair cutting on the side. She liked to play the card game SkipBo as well as playing her harmonica to entertain her family. She was always happy to see her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, it always put such a big smile on her face. Her famous slogan was, "Cheer, Cheer, The Gangs All Here!!!". Alvina was a sweet, caring, loving Wife, Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. She was a very Devoted Catholic her entire life. Alvina was a member of the Saint Catherine's Council of Holy Name of Jesus Parish. She will be sadly missed by everyone.
Alvina is survived by her children, Jeanne (Jim) Lawrie, Judy Riehle, Joel (Sheryl) Jacobi, and Joyce (Gary) Guss; grandchildren, Linda Lawrie, Cindy (Bennie) Stafford, Paula (Jay) Henry, Trina Schmid, Lisa (Rick) Repp, Melanie (Jim) Dalland, Clinton (Tami) Jacobi, Julie (Donald "DJ") Salyers, Gloria (Patrick) Baecker, Ben (April) Guss, Bruce (Mandy) Guss, Christina (Aaron) Hackbarth, Brian Guss, Brent Guss, and Barry Guss; great-grandchildren, Alex, Anya, Kaden, Samantha, Rylan, William, Dylan, Dana, Bennett, Logan, Harvey, Lexi, Kaylie, Riley, and Hazel; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Imhoff; husband, Harvey Jacobi; son, Jerry Jacobi; and son-in-law, Roger Riehle.
A funeral service will take place at 12:30 AM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, with Father Martin to officiate. A visitation will start at 11:30 AM and go until the time of services at the church. A burial at Restlawn Memorial Park will follow services.
