Angeline Ella (Bedynek) Schmidt, 95, of Wausau passed away peacefully Sunday, January 23, 2022, under Aspirus Hospice Care.
She was born March 6, 1926, to Joseph and Ella (Hoffman) Bedynek in Marathon City, WI, was baptized June 19, 1926, and confirmed June 5, 1938. She married Orville Schmidt on April 26, 1947, at Rib Falls Methodist Church. When Orville passed away in 2014, they were married for 67 years.
She was a graduate of Marathon High School. In her early years she worked at Employers Insurance and at J.C. Penney. She then became a stay-at-home mom as well as assisting Orville in all aspects of his business, Orville Schmidt Trucking and Rib Falls Sales Real Estate Auction Services. She worked for many years doing ginseng work for others as well as being a partner in T & O Enterprises also raising ginseng.
She enjoyed her monthly sheepshead games with a group of lady friends. She also enjoyed going to antique shows and refinished many lovely pieces of furniture. She liked watching the birds and deer in her yard and working in her beautiful flower beds. She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau and was involved in their Welfare Workers group.
Angeline wished to be remembered for her strong sense of family that remained throughout her life by giving care and comfort to her siblings.
She is survived by one son, Tommy Schmidt and wife Gail (Richmond) Schmidt of Wausau, and one daughter, Tamara (Schmidt) and husband Jody Frieders, of Tomahawk. She is also survived by four grandchildren whom she was extremely proud of, Jennifer Schmidt, Wausau, Bradley and Katie (Fraaza) Schmidt, Weston, Bethany (Frieders) and Jared Seubert, Edgar, and Craig and Kayleigh (Natzke) Frieders, Marathon; four great-granddaughters, Tyla Beilke-Seubert, Kali and Lakelyn Seubert, Edgar, and Brynn Frieders, Marathon, and one brother Allen Bedynek; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Angeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband and his parents, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlyle (Merlin) Hoff, Rosalene (William) Peterson, Arvella (Ervin) Koenig, and sister-in-law Ann Bedynek, two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Adeline (Schmidt) and Harold Radke, Marella (Schmidt) and Elroy Goetsch, and brother-in-law Arlon Schmidt and wife Delphine, and a special niece Jolene (Hoff) Griener and husband Russell.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 10:30 am at Restlawn Memorial Park Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service at Restlawn Memorial Chapel as well as entombment. Pastor Timothy Smith will officiate. Brainard Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, WI 54401.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at Renaissance Assisted Living, Rennes Long Term Care, and Aspirus Hospice for all the excellent care and love given to Angeline the last six years.
