Beverly Helke, 86, passed away on June 29,2017 at The Atrium, Schofield. Bev was born on August 5, 1930 in Wausau to the late Elmer and Helen (Neumann) Kuether. She married Richard R. Helke in August, 1948 in Wausau. During their marriage, they enjoyed traveling, including trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, California and several other destinations. Bev also enjoyed golfing, especially in Door County. She enjoyed watching the birds in her backyard, particularly the cardinals and the orioles. Roses were among her favorite flowers. Bev worked in the retail industry for her entire career. She started as a cashier in a small grocery store and later became an auditor for Lindell's. After retirement she dedicated her time to volunteer work at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and St. Paul's United Church of Christ. She was always available to help family, friends and the elderly with transportation and other needs that they may have had. Beverly is survived by daughter, Candy (Jim) Loos; three grandchildren, Jim Loos, Jr., Lori (Kevin) Juedes, Jason Loos; four great-grandchildren, Travis Juedes, Emily Juedes, Grace Loos and Olivia Juedes; sisters, Eleanor Brown and Marcia (Al) Kutchera ; sister-in-law Carol Kuether and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents and several brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11am at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams Street, Wausau with a visitation from 9:30am until the time of service. Rev. Philip C. Schneider will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
