Carol A. Hagen

Carol Ann Hagen, age 79, of Wausau died on August 19, 2024 at Benedictine Living Community in Wausau surrounded by her loving family.

She was Born in Chicago, IL on July 23, 1945 to Gustave and Pauline Overbeck. Her family moved to Rothschild, WI where she would spend most of her childhood. It was here that she met John Hagen. The two were united in marriage on April 23, 1966 in Rothschild. 

 Throughout her life, Carol was a dedicated and loving mother, wife, and sister. Providing unwavering love and support to her family. She brought countless individuals joy through her amazing stories, cooking, sewing and gardening skills. She had great way of bringing her stories to life with incredible detail and creating an atmosphere of love in her home. Her sewing skills ignited a career as a seamstress at places such as Thelma’s Bridal, JC Penny, and her own home business.

 Carol is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Hagen; children Jeff Hagen, Wendy (Randy) Kavajecz, Kurt (Lisa Turzinski) Hagen, and Mark (Katie Blue) Hagen; two granddaughters that she adored Tesla and Nova Hagen; her sister Julie (Dan) Pelot and brother-in-law Grant (Debbie Black-Hagen) Hagen. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings Bill and Nancy Overbeck.

Though we mourn her loss, we take comfort in knowing that she is at rest and Carol's spirit will live on in the hearts and stories of those she touched. May her laughter, kindness, and unwavering strength continue to inspire us all.

Funeral services for Carol will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St., Wausau. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home on Monday.
