Charles Willys Brushert

June 30, 1934 — April 2, 2025

Wausau

Charles Willys Brushert, 90, of Wausau, passed away on April 2, 2025, at Three Oaks Nursing Home in Marshfield.

Chuck was born in Wausau on June 30, 1934, to the late John Robert and Selma (Fochs) Brushert. He was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. Following his military service, he pursued his passion for artistry and precision at Elgin Watchmaking College, which paved the way for a fulfilling career as a watch maker. Charles became a cherished member of the Wausau community through his work at J.R. Brushert Jewelers, where his talent and dedication left an indelible mark on those who sought the beauty of his craft.

On June 14, 1958, Charles married Dianne L. Peterson, and together they embarked on a lifelong journey filled with love and companionship. Their marriage was a testament to commitment and joy until Dianne's passing on April 5, 2010, a loss that left a profound impact on his life. He enjoyed spending time at the family cottage Up North, especially on the water. Chuck loved his grandsons endlessly- particularly their coffee dates.

He is survived by his son, Mark (Deb) Brushert of Wausau; daughter, Lynn (Pat) Brushert-Cowan of Wausau; grandsons, John and Eric Brushert; and one sister. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Brushert.

A private family service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.

Our family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice, especially Josh Kroening, for their care.
