Dale Langbehn

Dale William Langbehn April 22, 1938 - March 6, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our father and grandfather, Dale William Langbehn, who peacefully left us on March 6, 2025. Dale lived a remarkable 86 years, filled with love for his family and a passion for sports and teaching.

Born in Clinton, Iowa, Dale grew up on a farm in the community of Grand Mound, where his enduring connection to sports began. He discovered his true love for baseball at an early age. He went on to play collegiate baseball at the University of Iowa. Later, he became a respected coach at Wausau East and D.C. Everest. His involvement with sports extended beyond coaching; he also officiated baseball, basketball, and football and served as the official scorekeeper for D.C. Everest basketball and baseball for 20+ years. He also devoted countless hours to watching his children and grandchildren participate in their sporting events. Dale is recognized as a member of the Central Wisconsin Baseball Hall of Fame and the D.C. Everest Athletic Hall of Fame.

Dale's influence reached beyond the athletic fields. He worked for many years as a history and economics teacher and guidance counselor in the Everest school system.

He is survived by his children: Melissa (David) Klein of Kronenwetter, David (Carol) of Schofield, and Gregg (Shelly) of Rothschild. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Justin of Chicago, and Logan, Connor, Jordyn, Lauren of Schofield, and Nathan and Rayna of Rothschild. His beloved wife, Jean, passed away before him.

A celebration of Dale's life will be held June 6 at the Brainard Funeral Home - Everest Chapel from 1-3 p.m., and all who knew him are invited.

Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the non-profit "Friends of Everest Baseball".
