Daniel "Dan" C. Vigneau, 63, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away on February 28, 2018 from complications of open-heart surgery. Born on September 5, 1954 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Dr. Edmund U. Vigneau and Gretchen (Semrau) Vigneau. A graduate of Wausau East High School, Dan received an ADN in Nursing from North Central Technical College in Wausau, along with additional advanced health care training and certificates. Dan was a CCRN, (Critical Care Registered Nurse) at numerous health care facilities in Wisconsin and Florida, including his last employer, Baptist Healthcare's Northpoint Surgery and Laser Center in West Palm Beach Florida. He was an extremely competent nurse who took enormous pride in his profession. For 40 years, he was dedicated to delivery of excellent care to his patients. A U.S. Navy Veteran Corpsman, Dan served from 1973-75. Dan was an avid hunter and angler who felt most at home in the outdoors. He mentored countless number of young people in the art of fishing and hunting and set a fine example of a true sportsman. Although he lived in Florida for many decades, his heart was truly in Wisconsin where he annually pursued these passions. Dan is survived by his beloved son, Nicholas, four siblings Mary McCann (J.Chris), Kathleen Lemke (Owen "Chip"), James Vigneau (Susan), and Richard Vigneau (Mary). In addition he is survived by nieces and nephews Kelley Huggett, Erin McCann, Charles "Charlie" Lemke, Dr. Tara Lemke Barry, Michael Vigneau, Kate Vigneau, and great nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his good friends Dan Piorier and Kari Schlimgen, as well as many friends and associates. A Celebration of Life will take place at 4:00 pm on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams Street, Wausau, WI. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Dan's honor to an educational fund for his son Nicholas.
