Delores A. Brandt, 88, of Weston passed away on August 12, 2017 at Tender Reflections of Weston. She was born June 10th, 1929 in the Town of Maine, Marathon County, WI to Royal and Ella (Hahn) Sturm. She attended Red Granite School, Horace Mann Junior High, and graduated from Wausau Senior High. Delores united in marriage to Lavern L. Brandt at Zion Lutheran Church, Town of Maine. She worked at the General Telephone Company of Wausau after high school and after her marriage. Later she worked at the Trust Company and J C Penney Company on Third Street in Wausau. In later years she worked full time in the office at Marathon Travel Goods in Schofield and her last full time job was at Drott/J I Case for 20 years as the secretary of the Parts Department in Schofield. She retired in 1984 and then took care of her mother Ella. She also watched her young grandchildren after school. Delores was a co-author of "The History of the Maple Grove Cemetery". She was also a longtime member of the Pommerschern Verein Club (German Club). Delores and Lavern traveled to Alaska and many other states. They also traveled to Germany and other European countries three times. Delores was a member of two card clubs that played Sheepshead. In her earlier years she enjoyed dancing to waltzes and polkas. Survivors include her husband of 67 years Lavern, her daughter Lynn (Rich) Maier of Rothschild, her grandchildren Lori (James) Mueller of Waukesha, Ryan (Anna) Maier of Green Bay and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Delores is preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law Clamont W Brandt, her two sisters-in-law Dorothy (Brandt) Kufahl and Gerraine (Brandt) Sturm and also her special cousin/brother Charlie Rogers. A funeral service will be at 4:00 pm on Monday, August 21, 2017. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until the time of service at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 6205 Alderson Street, Weston. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in the Town of Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Maple Grove Cemetery, or a charity of your choice.
