He had a fondness for writing stories about George Washington and held a deep interest in the Civil War and percussion guns. Growing up in Chicago, his heart belonged to the city, but he eventually found his way to St. Germain and later settled in Wausau.
A proud veteran, Gerald bravely served in the United States Army, a chapter of his life marked by dedication and sacrifice. On August 7, 1979, he married the love of his life, Barbara, and together they raised their son, David. In the tapestry of his life, Gerald was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Rose, who brought immense joy and laughter into his world.
Gerald's passion for life, his unwavering love for his family, and his kind spirit will be dearly missed. He leaves behind a son, David (Karin), a great-grandchild, Rose, and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever hold his memory close.
