Gerri Quirt

Gerri Quirt, 77, of Wausau, passed away March 31, 2025. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Born February 23, 1948, to Orville and Lois (née Hansen) Heide, Gerri grew up in Marshfield, where she attended Marshfield High School and then the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, where she earned a degree in elementary education.

In 1970, Gerri married her high school sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Quirt. They had three children whom they raised in Wausau.

Gerri adored her family and friends. She found joy in her needlepoint creations with intricate designs and whimsical finishes. She practiced yoga and loved watching caterpillars turn into monarch butterflies. She regularly cheered for the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers.

Gerri is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Benjamin (Brenda) and Timothy (Lindsay); grandchildren, Reese, Reghan, Piper, Kian, Cooper, Tyler, Camden; and her three bonus grandchildren, Austin, Jackson, and Lillian. She is also survived by her only sibling, a sister, Karen (Gary) Alexander.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Sara, and her parents.
