Henrietta G. Gaulke, 95, of Wausau, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Henrietta was born in Athens, Wisconsin to the late William and Clara (Auner) Schmitt on April 25, 1922. She married John Gaulke Sr. on September 28, 1940. He preceded her in death in 2002. Henrietta was a woman of strong Christian faith and truly tried to walk in the way of our Lord. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and baking and specialized in her chili, fudge and homemade bread. She loved to read and spend time with her family. Henrietta was a gentle woman finding the good in everyone. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, John Jr, Jerry, Mary (Frank) Rauen, Daniel (Elaine), Patrick (Pamela), Patricia (Paul) Jicinsky, James (Joyce), Margaret Passow, Michael (Julie), Joseph and Thomas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beside her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth; granddaughter, Jodie Gaulke; sisters, Viola, Loretta, Mabel and Rosella and her brother Sylvester. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Brainard Funeral Home-Wausau Chapel, 522 Adam Street. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2017 and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services, all to take place at the funeral home.
