Herb Tritten, 75 of Wausau was called to be with his Lord on March 11, 2018. Herb died at home from complications of Alzheimer disease under the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Herb was born in Wausau on January 30, 1943, the son of the late Dolores (Nagel) and Herbert J. Tritten, Sr. He graduated from Wausau High School class of 1961. After graduation he attended NTC majoring in accounting then joined the Wisconsin Army Reserves. Herb worked for George Baumgard Plumbing and Heating, Able Plumbing and then as Credit Manager for Connor Forest Industries until 1984, when he left the company to start his own "mini" business, Herb's Repair Shop, a small engine repair business. Herb was also very proud of his "Park Patrol" years as a Reserve Deputy with the Marathon County Sheriff's Department under Sheriff Louis Gianoli. Herb married Ruth Krueger on April 7, 1973 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wausau. Herb loved working with his hands making wood furniture and crafts, doing many craft shows throughout the state. He repaired small engines and did woodworking until retiring in 2012. He was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and a 53 year member of the Wausau BPOE Lodge 248. Herb was a very talented woodworker with a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with friends, just talking, playing dartball for St. Andrew Lutheran Church Mountaineers, gardening, and riding his Harley. He will be missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruth of Wausau. Sister Ruth Mader of Plano, Texas. Niece, Kris Marcus (Steve) of Dallas, Texas, their children Alexa and Brianna Marcus. Nephew Jay (Patty) Mader of Prairie Village, Kansas, their children Danielle and Rebecca Mader, Sister-in-law Joan Stroyny of Wausau and her children Justin Stroyny, Madison and Jennifer Stroyny, Wausau. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Uncles Ralph Nagel, Edward Nagel and Richard Tritten, In-laws Ann and Conway Krueger, Brother In-law James Krueger. Services will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 600 Stevens Drive, Wausau on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 11:30am with visitation from 9:00am until the time of services. The Reverend Bruce Lamont will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park. Our family would like to sincerely thank Frank Rubino,MD, Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, staff of Aspirus Clinics and Aspirus At Home for their compassion, support and exceptional care.
