Kathy S. Lewitzke, age 53, of Wausau died on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Kathy was born in Wausau on July 19, 1963 to Edward and Mary Ellen (Boehm) Schreiber Jr. She attended Newman High School and married her high school sweetheart, Mark Lewtizke, on September 12, 1987. Kathy earned her associates degree in nursing at NTC. She then pursued a 30 plus year career at Aspirus with roles as an RN in the Ortho/Neuro Unit, Discharge Planner, and finishing her career as a Triage Nurse for Spine and Neuro Sciences. Kathy enjoyed many things in life including spending time and traveling with the loves of her life, husband Mark and two daughters Kaylee and Molly. She especially enjoyed doing this in Florida at Disney World. She was a die hard Packer fan that cheered for her team every game day. Kathy really enjoyed gardening around the house and spending time enjoying the view of her work from the deck around the fire Kathy is survived by her husband Mark Lewitzke of Wausau; daughters Kaylee (Patrick Kavanagh) Lewitzke of St. Louis, MO and Molly Lewitzke of Wausau; mother Mary Ellen (Alvin Funk) Schreiber of Cedar River, MI; father-in-law Charles (Sally) Lewitzke of Wausau; sister-in-law Marcia (Mike) Strandberg of Wausau; niece Cassandra (Shamus) Dorand; and nephews Michael Schreiber and Luke Strandberg. She is preceded in death by her father Edward Schreiber Jr., brother Fred Schreiber, and mother-in-law Delores Lewitzke. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, 709 N. 6th St., Wausau. The Rev. Steven Gjerde will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 and will continue from 9:30 am until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
