Lester Allen Bartelt passed away on March 19, 2024, at Copperleaf Memory Care of Schofield, Wisconsin, at the age of 95. He was born on October 17, 1928, in Cascade, Wisconsin.
He married Ruth Wiebe on June 4, 1955, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a gentleman to all, and a loving and devoted husband to Ruth for 69 years. They were always by each other's side, jokingly introducing themselves as "Ruth and Les-together we are Ruthless!" Rarely would you see them separated from each other.
In the early 1960s, Lester made the significant move from Milwaukee to Wausau, where he made himself available to serve as the Presiding Overseer for the Wausau Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He remained an elder as long as his health permitted. Lester chose a simple life, devoting much of his time to serving God, as well as to his loving wife, Ruth. He was a pillar to the congregation and was always committed to sharing his faith with the community.
Lester worked in many fields including farming, construction, driving truck and at Wausau Insurance. The last company being Component Systems, where he was an original member and served as Production Manager. He set the tone each day with an uplifting spiritual discussion of a Bible text, providing his coworkers a happy and positive spiritual outlook for the day.
Lester will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Ruth, and his many friends.
A memorial service is planned for:
Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 226350 Hummingbird Road, Rib Mountain, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be at 2:00pm and a Memorial Talk at 3:00 pm.
We would like to thank the Copperleaf staff, Nancy, Janet, Daisy, Mariah; Jenny at Lakeland Care; Interim HealthCare; and Aging & Disability Resource Center for all the support and compassion they provided.
