Lois A. Frostman, 85, of Wausau, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Wellington Place of Wausau, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Wausau on January 7, 1932 to the late Dr. J.L. and Ethel (Plisch) Brandt. Lois went on to marry Guy Frostman in Redwing, MN on June 14, 1950. Guy preceded her in death on June 18, 2001. In 1947 Frostman Fish Market opened its doors, in 1960 Guy and Lois bought and took over the market from Guy's mom and dad. Lois worked at the market taking orders and doing retail sales. She and Guy would bring the kids to work with them from the time Guy Jr. was small enough to nap in a fish crate and Sherry just old enough to start helping up until 1990 when they passed the family business onto Guy Jr. and Sherry. Lois was a proud grandma and loved to spend time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Antique Club, Bridge Club, Morning Bowling League and enjoyed spending time shopping around town looking for the best deals. She was also an active member at Zion Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild, Concordia Guild and assisted with Strassenfest from Day 1. Lois had a caring heart and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Sherry Frostman of Wausau and Guy (Nancy) Frostman of Wausau; grandchildren, Jenny (Brian) Krieg, Kyle and Karmen Koehmstedt, Bailey and Amber Frostman; great-grandchildren, Brennan and Kylie Krieg. She is further survived by her brother John (Sue) Brandt and son-in-law Doug Kustka and several nieces and nephews. Beside her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by her daughter Kay Kustka and her sisters Margaret Scharmer and Joan Isberner. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, 709 N 6th Street, Wausau. Rev. Ted Gulhaugen will officiate. A visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park. Brainard Funeral Home-Wausau Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff at Wellington Place of Wausau for the compassionate care they gave to Lois while she was there.
