Lois Kufalk

January 5, 1941 — September 3, 2018

Lois Ann Kufalk passed away peacefully September 3, 2018 surrounded by loving family.

Lois was born January 5, 1941 to the late Myron Barttelt and Rosemary Burns Barttelt.

She married the love of her life, Jerome Kufalk, May 14, 1960.  He preceded her in death on March 24, 2018.

Lois lived her life for her family and friends. She and Jerome became “snowbirds” many years ago and enjoyed wintering in the fifth wheel in various sunny locations.  They spent summers in Eagle River, Wisconsin enjoying the outdoor life and beauty of the north woods.

Lois worked at various positions in her work life.  Two of her favorites being the head chef at Richard’s Supper Club and retiring from business office work at Sam’s Club in Wausau.

Lois loved crafts, sewing, playing cards and being with family.  Her smile and attitude won the hearts of the many friends she leaves behind.

Lois is survived by her children, Linda Nowak (Pat) of Milan, WI; Lori Hepp (Gregg) of Wisconsin Rapids; Brian Kufalk (Margaret) of Kronenwetter; Brad Kufalk (Kimber) of Fallon, NV and Jeffery Kufalk (Jennifer) of Atlanta, GA.  Lois’s pride and joy was spending time with her thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Four sisters and one brother – Susan Barttelt, Mary Krueger, Kristine Mais, Connie Kazianka and David Barttelt, survive Lois.  One sister, Kathryn McCoy, precedes her in death.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon, Monday, September 10, 2018 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 229 S 28th Ave, Wausau. The Rev. Robert C. Thorn will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. A reception will follow the service, and the family invites those in attendance to join them for the Interment following at Restlawn Memorial Park. Brainard Funeral Home – Everest Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lois’s final days were spent at the beautiful Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau.  The family would like to thank the employees and volunteers for their excellent, loving care.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be making a donation for an engraved stone in Lois’s name at the Hospice House.
