Mark Krueger

Mark D. Krueger, 73 of Wausau, died on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 6, 1945 to the late Harold and Ruth (Caswell) Krueger in Madison, Wisconsin. He married Mary Schremp in Wausau on September 8, 1979. She preceded him in death on July 1, 2016.

Mark was a United States Air Force veteran, serving honorably in Vietnam as an aircraft mechanic.  He worked for the Marathon County Sheriffs Department as a Detective until his retirement in 1997, he then worked as a Fire Investigator for EFI Global from 1998 until 2018.

Mark was very skilled at woodworking, creating beautiful gifts for his family.  He loved to hunt and fish and spend time at the barn during deer season.  He and Mary took many road trips to Mackinac Island and always brought back fudge to share.  Mark was a loving husband, caring father and the best grandpa.

He is survived by his daughters, Cherri (John) Cravens, Tammy Judkins and Jennifer (Carlos) Miller; ten grandchildren, Max, Andy and Julia Cravens, Salina, Philip and Anna Judkins, Brittney Hafenbreadl, Afton (Jamel) Reed and Domonique and Azaria Miller; three great-grandchildren, Alona and Ralph Pegues and Ramiya Ferguson.  He is further survived by; his siblings, Kathy (Dick) Anderson, Steve (Denise) Krueger, and Lisa (Ron) Romero.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at St. Mary’s Oratory, 325 Grand Ave, Wausau. Canon Aaron Huberfeld, Rector will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment to follow service at St. Joseph Cemetery, lunch to follow at St. Mary’s.
