Martín Sammy Gardea, a beloved husband and loving family man passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2024, at the age of 39 in Chicago, Illinois. Martín was born on October 5, 1984, in Fort Morgan, Colorado.
Martín dedicated his life to the art industry, showcasing his passion and talent as an artist and art handler. With a Master's degree in his field, he excelled in his occupation as an esteemed art handler, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with.
His loving relationship with his wife Sara was a source of joy and fulfillment in his life. Together, they shared cherished moments and dreams of moving back to Wisconsin. Martín's excitement for this new chapter in his life was palpable, and he eagerly anticipated the journey ahead with Sara. Martín's kindness, generosity and huge heart were always in play. His genuine interest and openness with others made for fast and long-lasting friendships. Martín was blessed with many friends all over the world.
Martín is survived by his loving wife, Sara Wanie; mother, Virginia Gallegos (Fort Morgan, CO); mother-in-law and father-in-law, Erlene and Merlin Ketchum (Weston, WI); special nephew, A.J. Flores; and special niece, Savannah Garcia (both of Fort Morgan, CO). Extended family members are of the Wanie, Gallegos, Grubbs, Ketchum families and more. He was preceded by his brother Louie Jaurigui and sister-in-law Erin Wanie.
A graveside gathering will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, 1501 Grand Avenue, Wausau, Wisconsin, 54403. Following that, a celebration of Martín's life will be held at Greenwood Hills, 2002 Poplar Lane, Wausau, Wisconsin, 54403.
Martín Sammy Gardea's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May his spirit forever inspire creativity and love in the world.
