Mary Jane Peters, age 95, of Wausau died on Wednesday, November 14, 2018.
Mary Jane was born on November 4, 1923 in Sun Prairie to the late Theodore and Madeline (Delaney) Boebel. She married Raymond Peters on November 23, 1942 in El Paso, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1982.
She was active in the Wausau Country Club and the Wausau Curling Club, having represented Wisconsin in the senior women’s national curling championship in Anchorage, Alaska. She was also an avid bridge player and lifelong fan of the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. Above all was her love for family.
She is survived by her children Mike (Paula) Peters, Betsy (Bruce) Weinkauf, Ted (Rosemary) Peters, and Rob (Rebecca Smith) Peters; grandchildren Jeff (Melissa) Weinkauf, Dan (Anna) Weinkauf, Erin Peters, Sydney Peters, and Riley Peters; great grandchildren Lucca, Ava, Vienne, Chase, Devan, and Brady Weinkauf, Colton Peters and Tripp Peterson.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Mary Peters and brother Robert Boebel.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church, 621 N. 2nd St., Wausau. The Msgr. Rev. Mark Pierce will officiate. Visitation will take place at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 until the time of service.
