Michael John Meuret "Mike", a beloved member of the Schofield community, passed away on April 5, 2024, at the age of 76. Born in Wausau, WI on December 17, 1947, Michael led a fulfilled and impactful life that touched the hearts of many.
Throughout his life, Mike dedicated his time to serving others. As a diving instructor and president of the C.O.W. "Couples on Wheels" biking club, he shared his passion for adventure and the outdoors with those around him. His involvement in the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master allowed him to mentor and shape the lives of young scouts. He was also responsible for starting an Explorer Post for scuba diving, leaving a lasting legacy of leadership and mentorship.
Mike's love for the great outdoors extended to his cooking skills, often showcasing his talent for open-fire cooking. Together with his spouse of 57 years, Dianne Meuret, he enjoyed diving and biking, particularly relishing tandem bike rides with her by his side. After leaving Weyerhaeuser, he pursued his passion for safety by establishing his own Safety Consulting Company, where he continued to make a positive impact in the community, Wisconsin and many other states.
He is survived by his loving wife Dianne Meuret, children Tammy (Mark) Kromrei and Bob Meuret, grandchildren Rachel (Brett) Zastrow and Riley Kromrei, and his brother Ronald Meuret. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Catherine Meuret, brothers Patrick Meuret, and Father Donald Meuret.
In remembrance of Mike's life and legacy, there will be Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, April 27 at BRAINARD FUNERAL HOME, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston, from 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated.
Mike's spirit and passion for adventure will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
