Nita Logemann

Nita Kay Moberg Logemann passed away peacefully Thursday December 12, 2024, at almost age 89 (she preferred to round up) with family by her side. It was a graceful ending to a journey here that was quite a story, with a large family and friends around the world better off for knowing her.

She was born in one of the coldest winters on record, January 18, 1936 in Mason City Iowa, to Lyman and Eunice Moberg. They had moved there from South Dakota, Lyman was a serial entrepreneur going from selling gas, to renting house boats to doing taxes. Eunice was a very capable housewife. In her own telling of her story Kay reveals her most important inherited gift was her faith in God, which would be a big part of her life throughout.

Kay grew up in her beloved Blue Earth, MN, and would regale her kids and grandkids with stories about those days every chance she had. We all know about Beaumont Hagebach, because he had a very interesting name, and all her high school classmates. She met the love of her life, Ronnie Logemann there in 8th grade. They were married in 1957. Kay taught school while Ronnie learned medicine. Tim came along in 1960. Tony, her favorite came in 1962, followed by Andy in 1964, and Nick, the cutest and nicest, in 1970. Her boys, sometimes, were the joys of her life! Other times they were boys.

Kay and Ronnie moved to Shawano in 1964. There, Kay entertained frequently in the house she adored on the Wolf River, while the boys grew up and broke stuff, using up her violin teaching salary, much to her chagrin. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker with many a tasty hotdish served nightly at the trestle table. She taught violin for thirty years. When the love of her life, Ronnie, passed in 1993 she moved to Wausau, where she started a whole new chapter, making friends all over the city from different walks of life. She taught violin here and was very proud of her students. She also became active in Good News, participating in eight mission trips teaching and leading local children in music programs. She organized the musical program for Festival of Trees for over 15 years.

She is survived by her brother Larry Moberg, sons Tim (Cari), Tony (Margaret), Andy (Dana) and Nick (David). Grandchildren Allison Logemann, Becky (Matt) Seegert, Dan (Hailey) Logemann, Kelly (Luke) Wilson, Emily (Ryan) Klitzke, Mike (Halle) Logemann and Joe Logemann. She was blessed with five great grandkids as well, with two more on the way. Kay's life stands as a testament to the values of family, faith and friendship. She certainly left her mark, and will be remembered and missed by those who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 930 Edgewood Road, Wausau with the Funeral Service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nita's name may be made to Evangelical Lutheran Church in America(www.goodgifts.elca.org).
