Norbert Janikowski

Norbert (Norb) Janikowski, 91, of Weston died unexpectedly on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Renaissance Assisted Living in Weston.

Norbert was born on May 20, 1933 to the late Felix and Mary Janikowski. Norbert married the love of his life, Grace Koskey on October 27, 1952 at St. Ladislaus Church in Bevent, Wisconsin. They were married for 67 years before Grace passed in November 2019.

Norbert worked at Marathon Battery, Marmet Corporation and lastly at Drott/J I case retiring in 1991 after 26 years working as a welder, inspector, leadman and foreman.

Norbert and Grace built five homes together and had a place near St. Germain where they enjoyed fishing many of the lakes.

In his younger days he and Grace loved to go to polka dances and snowmobile with friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed bowling men's and couples leagues, trap shooting, deer hunting and casino trips.

In November 2023 he made the decision to move into Renaissance Assisted Living where he loved his little apartment and in the short time there made many friends.

Norbert is survived by his children; Corri (Tom) Marschall, Mark Janikowski, Tim (JoAnn) Janikowski, and Laurie (Karl) Kurtzweil; five grandchildren, Brock (Meghan) Janikowski, Stacy (Klay) Swatloski, Breanna (Phil) Snyder-Knutson, Tiffany (Ben) Herzfeldt and Tanner Janikowski; four great grandchildren, Kenley, Kashten and Isla Swatloski and Scarlett Snyder-Knutson; sister, Ilene Hill and brother, Roger (Pearl) Janikowski. In addition to his parents and wife, Norbert was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Lorrie Janikowski.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday January 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 6101 Zinser St., Weston. Father Jerome Patric will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the hour of service at the church. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Rothschild.
