Patrick L. Prieve, 72, of Schofield, passed away September 25, 2017 at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. Patrick was born on August 3, 1945 to the late Harold and Loretta (Eckes) Prieve. He married Carol Ertl on December 11, 1987 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Schofield. Patrick served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War as a gunnersmate, serving on the USS Putnam with his brother. He could fix anything and was known for the swing in his front yard. He was employed by the Marathon County Highway Department, starting as a plow driver and eventually became their welder until his retirement. Pat loved fishing and the outdoors and was also an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons Keith Prieve and Kevin (Brenda) and their son Ryan Prieve; step-sons Scott (Cathy) Huber and their children Sara, Ryan, Amanda, Amber Hrobsky; and step-son Steve (Michelle) Huber and their children Zach and Ava; brothers Terry (Mary) Prieve and Kenneth (Sharon) Prieve; sisters Shirley (Merritt) Gleason and Mary Beth (Butch Bliese) Tolley; three great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Orville Lodholz. A Celebration of Pat's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29 at Brainard Funeral Home - Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court Weston, WI. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of services at the Funeral Home. Military Honors will follow the service at the Funeral Home.
