Peggy A Kroning

Peggy A. Kroning, 71, of Schofield, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Marshfield Medical Center – Weston, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Peggy was born on December 9, 1953, in Antigo Wisconsin, the daughter of Robert and Loann (King) Heinzen. She was a devoted mother to her son, Chris, whom she adored. Peggy married Richard Kroning on November 11, 1995, blending their families, and together they embraced the love and joy of life.

Throughout her life, Peggy was known for her kindness, her strong work ethic, and her passion for storytelling and writing poems. She enjoyed home decorating, especially at Christmas! Her warm spirit, generosity and mentorship touched the lives of coworkers throughout her fifty-year career in the insurance industry, she most recently worked at Burns Insurance.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Rich Kroning, children Chris (Tania) Heinzen, Becky Kroning, Kristin Sanchez and Phillip (Danielle Kempfer) Kroning; grandchildren Raygen Heinzen, Henrick and Caryn Kroning-Knutson; Sabrina, Selena, Sofia and Christian Sanchez and Preston, Everly, Kasen and Holden Kroning; and great granddaughter Abriella Sanchez. She is further survived by her mother Loann Heinzen and siblings Michael (Teresa) Heinzen, Jean (Mick) Geurink, Susan (Daniel) McKinney, Kathy Goodin, Carol DuCharme and Linda (Dale) Abegglean.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Heinzen and sister Karen Heinzen.

A celebration of life will be held at the Big Eau Pleine County Park, on May 10th, 2025, from 11 am to 3 pm.
