Richard Grasse, 85, passed away on December 23, 2024, in Greenville, WI. Born on July 17, 1939, in Sheboygan, WI, to Ewald and Elizabeth (Van de Vyver) Grasse, Richard lived a full and impactful life.
He graduated from Sheboygan Central High School before serving his country as a radar man in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Saratoga. After his military service, he worked as a printer at the Office Supply and Printing Company. Richard pursued higher education at UW-Stout, earning both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree.
Richard dedicated 33 years to teaching printing and publishing at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau, WI, where he was admired for his expertise and mentorship.
He married Patricia Kenyon, with whom he had two sons, Scott and Eric. Later, he married Virginia McKloskey.
Richard is survived by his sons, Scott (Jessie) Grasse of Hortonville, WI, and Eric Grasse of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, his parents, and his sister Mary Lemp (Ralph).
A man of varied passions, Richard loved fishing, especially musky fishing, and was an avid runner who competed in numerous races, including marathons. He cherished time spent with coworkers and friends at the Wausau YMCA. In his later years, Richard took up painting at the age of 79, sharing his artwork with many friends and relatives.
Private services will be held. Richard will be remembered for his dedication to teaching, his love of the outdoors, and the joy he brought to those around him.
