Rosemary Brasch age 93, of Wausau passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Wellington Place in Rib Mountain.
She was born December 3, 1930, in Polar, Wisconsin to the late Elmer and Mabel (Tews) Fischer. After graduating from Antigo High School Rosemary moved to Wausau to seek employment. On July 1, 1950, she married fellow Antigo High School classmate, Eldren L. Brasch at Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo, and went on to celebrate 50 years of marriage.
Rosemary worked at the former Business Service Center in Wausau for many years and enjoyed the many friends she made there. She and Eldren were long-time members of Zion Lutheran Church in Wausau, and she also volunteered there after retirement. In addition, Rosemary also enjoyed volunteering at The Talent Shop in Wausau, where she sold many of her own beautifully embroidered kitchen towels.
Rosemary enjoyed life to the fullest and loved reading romance novels, playing bingo, casino gambling with her friends, playing Canasta every Sunday, Elvis, peanut M & M’s, brandy slush, Double Mint gum, her cat, Toby (named after Toby Keith), and being a wonderful mom, grandma and great grandma.
Survivors include her two daughters, Cherie (John) Hadler of Grafton, WI, and Kathy (Greg) Peterson of Wausau; grandchildren, Dan Bundner, Matt (Ebony) Bundner, Haley (Neil) Simmons, and Erin (Mark) Coleman; beloved great grandchildren, Lillian, Elizabeth (Lizzy), Allison, and Mary Simmons, Lucy and Karl Coleman; nephews David and Bob and niece, Barbara.
In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Rosemary was preceded in death by infant sister, Margie, brother, Jim and sister-in-law, Mardie.
Rosemary’s family celebrated her life at a private funeral service on Friday, February 9th at the mausoleum chapel at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau. Reverand Christopher Johnson, from Zion Lutheran Church, officiated.
The family would like to give special thanks and acknowledgement to the wonderful staff at Wellington Place who so lovingly cared for mom the last 6 years, especially recognizing Shannon, Kendra, Brenda, Sierra, Whitney, and McKenzie. They are also grateful for the continuous support and love given to mom and the family by Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services staff members, including a special thank you to Carla and Chaplain Natalie.
Rosemary Brasch will forever be remembered for her warm smile, infectious laughter, and the love she showered on her family and friends. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memories bring comfort and solace to all who knew and loved her.
