Marlin Lee-Roy Schemehorn, 70, of Wausau, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Marlin was born October 13, 1946 in sunny California, where he lived until he was 12 years old. At 12, he moved to Merrill, Wisconsin and then on to Milwaukee, where he enjoyed factory work. Shortly after his move to Milwaukee, he was drafted by the United States Army, having served almost two years, including one year in Vietnam. After the Army, he married and had three beautiful children. He enjoyed working at Hurd Windows in Merrill for 20 years. Marlin was known to be a proud Silver M for football. He played football, basketball and baseball for Merrill High School. He carried his passion for sports throughout his life. He enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers. Being a "road warrior", Marlin loved to go on Lamers bus trips. He didn't care where the bus was going- as long as he didn't have to drive and the trip was somewhat short. More than anything though, Marlin enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. Marlin is survived by his children Rebecca A. (Kenneth K.) Kriehn, David L. (Jessica L.) Schemehorn, and Andrea M. (Joseph J. III) Rohmeyer; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 5:00pm at Brainard Funeral Home- Wausau Chapel, 522 Adams Street, Wausau with a visitation from 4:00pm until the time of services.
