Senta Marie Lambrecht, 95, passed away peacefully at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on February 25, 2025. She was the only child of William “Captain Bill” and Norma (Brown) Kasten.
Senta Marie graduated from Wausau High School in 1947 and enrolled in the Bellin Nursing School in Green Bay, graduating as an RN in 1950. She married Raymond Lambrecht of Wausau that year just prior to his deployment in the Air Force during the Korean War. After his return, she worked as a nurse in the many different states that their military life took them. They eventually settled in Madison after his service and moved to San Jose, CA in 1963 due to his job transfer with IBM.
In those early years Senta Marie worked in the acute hospitals. Her focus in nursing shifted to geriatrics in the 1970's and she became a Director of Nurses at a skilled nursing facility. Striving to make even more impactful changes, she returned to school and received her Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration from St. Mary's College in 1982. She then worked as a nursing home administrator until her retirement in 1994. She returned to Wausau shortly thereafter to reconnect with family and her dear Bellin classmates who knew her as “Casey”.
Family was important to Senta Marie and a great source of pride. Her life was also enriched with travels to Europe, Hawaii and many states and all provided wonderful memories. She was an avid reader who loved a good book, a cup of coffee and always some chocolate.
Senta Marie is survived by her loving children LTC US Army (Ret.) Michael William Lambrecht and his wife Linda of Minden, Nevada; daughter Lynn Lambrecht (Ron Allen) of Wausau; grandson Dr. Michael R. Lambrecht (Michelle) of Albuquerque, NM and great-grandchildren Samantha and Christopher; and granddaughter Dr. Kathryn Lambrecht (Doug Lay) of Chandler, AZ.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wausau Manor and Dr. Hilary Scully for their years of compassionate care.
Private services and internment will be held at a later date at Mosinee/Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family will be collecting donations to be sent to the Bellin College of Nursing scholarship fund.
