Timothy J. Dobeck, 87, Wausau passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 under the care of hospice at assisted living.
He was born January 2, 1937 in Wausau, son of the late Phillip and Helen (Pryga) Dobeck. On December 26, 1964 he married Marcella R. Haas (deceased) at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild.
Tim graduated from D.C. Everest High School and North Central Technical Institute. He worked in the automotive industry as an accountant for many years and finished his career working at Green Bay Packaging. He served in the Army Reserve for three years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. His hobbies included being a lifelong sports fan and he especially liked the Packers, the Brewers and the Woodchucks. Tim also enjoyed playing cards and listening to polka music. After he retired, he enjoyed visiting his grandsons and traveling to Florida and Gulf Shores, Mississippi and spending time with friends.
Survivors include his children, Helen (Andrew) Solomon, Wildwood, MO, Vincent Dobeck (Rebecca Skaaland), Ringle, WI and Matthew Dobeck, Venice, FL two grandsons, Scott Solomon and Jonathan Solomon, two step-sisters, Patricia (Tom) Sloan, Watertown, WI and Susan (Don) Abbot, Albuquerque, NM and one half-brother, Michael (Lori) Dobeck, Dacula, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Marcella D. Dobeck and two sisters, Patricia (Raymond) Ireton and Darlene (Charles) Blakely.
A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, March 30 from 1 pm to 4 pm in the meeting room at the Holiday Inn Express – Weston, 4210 Barbican Avenue, Weston WI 54476.
Donations may be made to Wausau Area Mobile Meals.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Interim Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for Tim.
